Finning Announces Versatile Equipment As Its First New General Construction Caterpillar Dealer For 2011

Plant and equipment dealer Versatile Equipment Ltd has become the first general construction Finning Caterpillar® dealer in a major move by Finning to open up new opportunities in the general construction market for the South East of England.
With a solid reputation for customer service and support, along with years of industry experience, from the 4th January 2011, Versatile Equipment Ltd will be selling a comprehensive range of general construction Caterpillar equipment, with the backing and support of Finning.
The Caterpillar equipment that will be available from Versatile Equipment Ltd includes, Hydraulic Excavators from 1.5 tonnes up to 8.5 tonnes, skid steer loaders, Telehandlers, Multi Terrain Loaders and Compact Track Loaders.
Commenting on the deal, Finning general sales manager, Lee Andrews said: “The deal with Versatile Equipment is a major move for us at Finning as we look to make significant growth to our general construction equipment penetration in the UK. We have some extremely strong Caterpillar products in our portfolio, but recognise that even though we have a very comprehensive national branch network, we have been missing out on equipment sales in various parts of the UK, where purchasing decisions are made more on a dealer location basis.
“With this in mind, we have looked at the gaps we had within the market and in particular the South East. Due to its impressive track record in the industry, we approached Versatile Equipment in 2010, with a view to it becoming the first general construction dealer for Finning Caterpillar. The team were really up for the challenge and the vision shown by director Paul Rolfe was exactly in tune with what we are trying to achieve at Finning. So we are really pleased and excited that Versatile Equipment has decided to join us as our first general construction dealer.”
Commenting on the move to become a Finning Caterpillar dealer from its previous role dealing with a competing manufacturer, Versatile Equipment director Paul Rolfe said: “Having worked in the industry since its inception in 2003, Versatile Equipment has become a real expert in the compact loader and attachment markets, building a solid reputation for delivering expert solutions to support our customers throughout the region.
